Access Criteria

Data and biospecimens from the MVP will be made available for genomic and epidemiological studies that will inform health care delivery. Access to MVP data and/or samples is governed by the scope of MVP informed consent and VA policies, and requires scientific review by appropriate VA review committees. For information on access, see the MVP website or contact MVPLOI@va.gov.

Objectives

The goal of MVP, by providing a framework for scientifically valid and clinically relevant genomic medicine, is to enhance the care of the Veteran population.

The overarching objective of MVP is to improve understanding of how health is affected by genetic characteristics, behaviors, and environmental factors.

Recruitment Method    

Veterans are identified from VA databases and recruited via invitational and appointment mailings. In addition, Veterans are recruited at selected VHA clinical sites.
